I don't believe transformation requires us to look back at previous versions of ourselves with embarrassment. Quite the opposite. There is often enormous wisdom in understanding why we chose what we chose, what we needed at the time, and what those clothes made possible for us.
The Blue Silk Shirt
There was a shirt I wore to every important room I needed to walk into. It fit my body, but that's not actually what it gave me.
It gave me ease. I didn't have to spend the evening checking myself in the mirror or wondering if some part of me was too visible. I could just... be in the room.
